Countdown: 11 months...

Scott's going away on a golfing trip with my dad next weekend so my mom and I have decided to get some wedding planning done. No more dragging my feet...
We booked the decorator (Annie Lane Events and Decor) and so I'll go and meet with them next week to try and figure out if the ceremony site we've chosen will work.
Hopefully the weather will comply so they can get a good look at the gazebo.
Then on Saturday the 11th I'm going to trek into the city to find my wedding dress.
I'm actually excited this time. Before I felt so overwhelmed.
My maid of honour, Allison and my mom are coming with me among a few others who have asked to come along as well.
Allison will probably get a good look at some of the bridesmaid dresses available as well.
I'm back to 6 girls in the wedding. The worst thing is having someone be in your wedding just because they felt they had to say yes. Now I've got the best gals!

Less than a year...

Scott and I will get hitched in less than a year!
We held a bbq recently to celebrate our engagement.  A little late, I know but it was a lot of fun.
Here are a few pictures from that night.

Picture perfect...

I just wanted to share a few pictures from my friend Shannon's wedding this past week in Punta Cana.
She had her new sister in-law, Amanda Millson take the photos and they are outstanding!
    Posed...but not stiff. Very fun!
I've asked Amanda to take the photos for our wedding and she's agreed.
Tell me what you think of them...

Playing dress up...

On the David's Bridal website there is a section where you can build your wedding party.
I was bored this afternoon so I thought I'd give it a try with the dresses I like for the bridesmaids.

What do you all think of the colour combinations here? Should I do separate dresses? Colours? Or all the same? I have quite a few girls and I'd like the maid of honour to be dressed in the floral print dress.

Wedding party dresses...

This is a picture of some dresses I really love for the girls in my wedding party. Its from David's Bridal. I think the store is just in the states, but we could always order online when it comes closer to the day. What do you think of these dresses in blue?

More mags...

I just made a stop at the convenience store and bought a couple bridal magazines.
I'm going to get my pajamas on, curl up on the couch, and read up on all things Spring weddings...
Starting all over again is a bit stressful but I'm also super excited...back to step one.

May...a good month for a wedding?

It looks like May 29, 2010 is the big day. It seems so far away, but I'm excited to have worked something out with the caterer and hall so we don't lose our deposits for switching dates.
Now I need to pick all the other stuff.. deja vu?

A-O.K

We've been given the O.K. to switch the date for our hall rental for our wedding.
We're between dates. Can't decide between May 29 and June 12 right now.
I'm going to talk to the caterer on Monday to find out if they're available both dates, and if they're only available one date I guess that's when we're getting married.
Its weird having to back track on some of these things, but one plus to rescheduling...all those wedding magazines I bought are new again. I'm looking for new colours, flowers, etc so its like I've never seen them before. When I looked at them the first time around I was set on the fall. Spring is so different.

Change of plans...

There has been a change in wedding plans.  Scott and I have decided to postpone our wedding until the Spring of 2010. I've realized lately that the most important thing to me is to have my friends and family there on our big day...healthy and happy. I also want them there for the Jack and Jill and the bachelor/bachelorette parties, the showers, etc. Its more than just one day.
With this last month being as hectic as it was, rushing back and forth from the hospital to be there for my loved ones I need sometime to wind down.
I won't stop wedding planning of course, I just won't be running in fast forward anymore.
With a new season means new colours and flowers, etc...
What do you like for Spring?
We still need to pick a date. Its between May and June right now. Tulips are in May right? I love tulips.

No luck...

No luck with finding a wedding dress.  I may go back on Sunday if I can arrange it.  I have seven bridesmaids, you'd think one of them would be available to help me shop.  Not yesterday.
I will probably go to Michael's and pick up some more invitations this weekend. I have to collect my coupons first. Its such a thrill getting something for 40% off.
What else do I have to do? Everything!
Other people getting married think I'm so ahead of the game, but I'm not. I need to get organized.
I'm so disorganized and it doesn't help that I'm the biggest procrastinator on the planet.
    #1: DRESS!
#2: All the other stuff that needs to get done.

If you're newly engaged... get a wedding planner.
