Ready to give up...

I've been trying to lose weight for the past two months. I can't believe its actually been two months of workouts and sensible eating, but it has been.  I've lost 8 lbs. I think I need to realize that I am the way I am. I know if I worked out 4 hours a day with a personal trainer and had a dietitian like all of those Hollywood stars I'd have been at my goal weight, but realistically I can't do that.
Its frustrating. It really is.  I got a exercise plan set up by a personal trainer at my gym, and by her calculations if I stuck to my calorie allowance and worked out at least an hour a day I would have lost 18 lbs by now.  Well, I definitely haven't been going to the gym everyday. Some weeks are better than others but right now I am aiming for at least 3 times.  And food... I like food.  I don't want to diet... I'm just cutting back. I'm sure I could do more if I had a workout buddy everyday after work, but I don't so I get lazy.  And my dogs are even getting lazy.  They used to be a big encouragement.  Each time I'd put my running shoes on I'd have Ruby and Finnegan all excited for a walk. Now, I'm lucky if they even get up. Maybe its the weather?
I'm going to keep to it, but I'm just going to be realistic.  I said in my mind I'd like to be 40 lbs lighter... and I know that's a lot of weight to lose, so I'm aiming more for 20 lbs.  So 12 more to go. And I've got lot's of time to do it. Being more active has been good for me even if the pounds aren't falling off me.  I'm not huffing and puffing up stairs, and I'm sure I could run a few laps around the block without collapsing.
So... a comment from Pam said the next thing I should do is look for a dress.  I think I will. And I will have it taken in if I lose a few extra pounds.  And if I don't, that's fine too.  I am who I am, big butt and all.

You don't here songs about skinny chicks to you? Embrace your butt! I do. Thank those who wrote songs like Fat Bottom Girls and Toby Keith's Honky Tonk Badonk adonk!

What kind of cleanse do you suggest?

Have you considered a cleanse? I tried a natural cleanse for a week. Yucky stuff to drink twice a day, but it really kick started my metabolism. I lost 5lbs effortlessly. It was all the junk collecting in my body. Now I have to eat well to maintain it, maybe it will be the jump start you need? Get your metabolism amped up and it will work harder for you when you are working out and eating well. Good luck!

8lbs. in 2 months is excellent......I think to loose 18 in 2 months is unrealistic....
Keep losing 4lbs. a month and be March you will be down another 20lbs. I would wait until then to purchase the dress.Don't be so hard on yourself.

What gym do you go to? I'm a huge fatty, and need someone to keep MY motivation too. I'm off at four every day. :)
