Rice, Confetti, or Birdseed?

We're having our wedding ceremony outside in a park by the lake. Rice and confetti, two things that people generally throw at the couple after the ceremony is over, are bad for the environment and our feathered friends.  So, why not toss birdseed? I thought that was a super idea. What do you think?

My fiance and I were looking around Michael's craft store a couple of weeks ago and saw a neat alternative to bird seed. It is still animal friendly, and dissolves, but you can get it in different colours to match your wedding.

Why not just bubbles?

Oops, forgot to put the link to Andre Hilliard's site with the wedding photos :-)

As someone who spent a long time sweeping soggy confetti from the pavement, birdseed seems a brilliant idea!!
I hope your wedding goes beautifully! I was looking at some beautiful wedding photos from a photographer in Central Virginia, which put me in mind of beautiful wedding venues when I stumbled across your blog:

That is a great idea
