Dressing it up...

    My mom and I took a trip to Toronto today and visited Windsor Bridal.
    I tried on a ton of dresses including the dress by Paloma Blanca I liked before.
    I still love that dress. Its beautiful, but still pricey.  Its hard to completely fall head over heels for a dress that makes the wallet feel guilty.
    There was another dress I did like that was actually half the price of the other dress.
    I don't remember who it was by, so I can't find a picture to post on here. I tried to take a picture of it when I had tried in on the shop but "no cameras were allowed."
    I liked everything about the cheaper dress except the back. It was a corset back. I prefer the zipper, but that's just my own personal taste.
    We left having almost completely deciding that the more expensive dress was "the dress" but then I remembered Diane (my consultant) saying that there may be a way to get the cheaper dress changed to a zipper back. So on the way home, stuck in rush hour, I called and asked Diane to find out how much more it would cost to make the alteration. Fingers crossed, I should find out tomorrow.
    Then.. the real decision making must begin.
    Both dresses made me feel like a Bride.
    One is just better quality... but you pay for that.

Save your coupons ladies...

    I've been asking everyone to keep an eye out for Michael's flyers. This past Friday's flyer had a 40 % off coupon. These kind of coupons go into the paper every other week, or so I've been told.
    I saved almost $100 this weekend by using coupons on regular priced merchandise.
    My cousin and sister came with me to buy some boxes for the wedding favours and some drawstring bags for the birdseed on Sunday.
    I plan to collect coupons every chance I get and go in to the craft store and buy things for our wedding..
    They have a wide variety of wedding ideas on their shelves.
    So ladies, save your coupons!

Done and done...

    We got some things accomplished yesterday.  We chose an amazing menu for our wedding reception.
It wasn't hard to sell Scott on the ukrainian menu once he tried a few items.  It was so delicious.
    After we left Bunny's my cousin and Scott's mom went with me to pick out fabric for the tables at the reception. I wanted to get really pretty overlays rather than rent generic ones.
We picked out this really nice gold fabric for the head table and this coppery brown fabric that will cover the cake table, gift table, etc.
    We planned on getting that fabric for all of the guest tables, but there wasn't enough meters.
    We went to another fabric store but couldn't find it there either. I'll go to a couple more and see what I can find, but if we can find it I think the plan is to head to the states to see what we can find.
    We also went to Michael's and got some nice invitations. With a 40% coupon, it was a steal!

Wedding planning weekend...

    I'm going to get some things done this weekend.
    First on the list is a food tasting with our caterer Saturday morning.
    I'm trying to get Scott to lean towards the Ukrainian meal. I'm a uki and I LOVE the food; perogies, cabbage rolls, shishkabobs, oh my!
    I'm hoping Monday some of the bridal stores will be open. I want to go to Orfus Rd and visit Windsor Bridal. Its a discount bridal superstore and the dress I want is a bit too pricey so I'm hoping they might have it at a cheaper price.

Frustrated...

    I tried to order our wedding favours tonight.
    We chose candies that we could put our pictures on and text as well.
    It took forever to find the right pictures and then re-size them. I went through the whole process and when I got to the end to checkout it says Zip/Postal code... and Country.
    I couldn't type in the complete postal code and I couldn't switch the country from the United States.
    It made it seem like Canadians could order the product, but we can't.
    I'm beyond frustrated. I was really looking forward to getting these party favours, now I need to start from scratch.

Cake...

    Does anyone have any suggestions for good wedding cake?
    Now that we're going for a tasting at our caterer on Saturday, I'd like to go taste some cake soon too.
    I'm looking for some thing plain... not too elaborate. Maybe decorated with some fall flair.
    Scott's parents came to visit last night and we were talking about cakes.
    Scott really thinks he wants either vanilla or chocolate, but I think something more rich like chocolate raspberry would be better.  It'll be interesting to see if we can decide on the same flavour.

Woah...

    I had a hard time going down the stairs in my house this morning. That bootcamp fitness class is working.
The instructor took my measurements at the end of the class, so I'm hoping when I get them done again at the end of the session I will see an improvement. Then... I'll buy my dress.
    I scheduled a tasting with the caterer. Scott and I are going on Valentine's Day to try and figure out what we'll be serving guests at the wedding. Turkey and something else. Possibly ham. We'll see what tastes the best.
    I'm going to try and get some wedding stuff done on my day off Friday. I would like to go to a fabric store and pick out fabric for the overlays for the tables. The interior of the hall will be decorated ivory and gold, so I'd like a punch of colour on the table tops. I think I'll also head over to a craft store to see if I can get some ideas. I need to order my party favours soon, so maybe I'll buy some little bags to go with them and I also need little bags for the birdseed for the ceremony.

Getting fit in February...

    ... Or at least I'm going to try get a bit more fit this month.
    I haven't ordered my wedding dress...
    I have a few more pounds I would like to lose before then.
    I really liked the way the dress I want fits me, but I would like to see if I can go down one more size.
    I don't want to feel uncomfortable in anyway on the big day.
    So, in support of my month long work-out plan, my maid of honour Allison has decided to join a bootcamp class with me.  Our first class is tonight. We'll go once each week.
    I'll let you know how it goes.. and please, no comments about how I should have bought my dress by now.  I know.. I know I should have bought it like 4 months ago.. but I'm such a procrastinator.
    FYI, yesterday I almost died on the elliptical at the gym.
