No luck...

    No luck with finding a wedding dress.  I may go back on Sunday if I can arrange it.  I have seven bridesmaids, you'd think one of them would be available to help me shop.  Not yesterday.
    I will probably go to Michael's and pick up some more invitations this weekend. I have to collect my coupons first. Its such a thrill getting something for 40% off.
    What else do I have to do? Everything!
    Other people getting married think I'm so ahead of the game, but I'm not. I need to get organized.
    I'm so disorganized and it doesn't help that I'm the biggest procrastinator on the planet.
    #1: DRESS!
    #2: All the other stuff that needs to get done.

    If you're newly engaged... get a wedding planner.

Homemade invitations...

    Thanks for the tip on how to make homemade invitations Lindsey.
    Lindsey commented on a thread I had asked people to comment on about what they wish they had done for their wedding.    

    She suggested I make homemade invitations for the wedding like she did for hers the past October.
    This is the website she gave me.  Its a Toronto based company, which I think is great. The more local the better.
    I actually can't wait to go home and look at all the different design ideas.

    FYI, our furnace broke down last night... finally. We managed to get a repair man to fix it for the time being, but we need a new furnace installed asap.

Bridal show!!

    I know I said I wasn't planning on going to another wedding show... but.... I lied.
    The 20th annual Bridal Event and Fashion Show is on January 18th in Oshawa at A.E. King Fitness Complex at 1200 Leland Rd., near Townline Rd. and King St. E.
    Its brought to you by Metroland.
    Tickets are $10 in advance or $15 at the door.
    I will be there. I'm always interested in seeing a fashion show. In fact, I'm making my first appointment to try on dresses.  I'm so nervous!

   

Warm weather...

    My thoughts keep drifting to places with warmer climates.  I'm sure I'll have our honeymoon booked in the next few weeks.  Travel websites have become my new obsession.

Being that Scott and I plan to travel during hurricane season, I found this very helpful.  Although I know we can't afford half the places on the list.  Can you imagine? A trip to Fiji? Well, I can imagine...but its not going to happen.  Aruba seems to still be on top of our list.

Honeymooning...

    Here are 3 useful tips for couples on their honeymoon...courtesy of The Knot.

	1. Manage Mishaps Have three copies of your passport -- one to keep in your room, one in your pocket, and give another copy to a friend or family member at home. If you're traveling to an exotic locale make sure that you're cleared with the appropriate vaccinations and medications before you go.
	2. Maximize Suitcase Space Pack the heaviest items toward the bottom of your luggage and leave the light sweaters for the top. Stuff socks and undergarments into purses and bags to help keep their shape, and share your bathroom basics like shampoo and soap. Finally, don't forget to bring an extra bag so you can stock up on souvenirs!
	3. Stress-Proof Your Trip Plan ahead: sketch out the trip together and create a budget before you leave. And don't over-plan every day -- you'll want some time to catch up on all the sleep you've missed during the hectic wedding planning process. Respect his interests too. If he wants to snorkel and you'd rather hang on the beach, plan to split up for a few hours, then meet back up for a romantic dinner date.

Vows...

    Traditional or make up our own? Scott wants traditional... I'm not so sure.  Here are some tips I found if you're planning on writing your own.
Consider these questions when writing your vows:

• When and where did you first meet?
• What was the state of your life before the two of you met?
• At what point did you realize you were in love? Describe the feeling.
• What inspires you about your loved one?
• What life goals and dreams do you share?
• What have you learned from each other?
• What qualities make your love unique? What qualities will keep it strong?
• How has your view of the world changed since you fell in love?
• What do you most look forward to about life with this person?
• What are some special moments in your relationship? Use them all, even the sad times as well as the happy, moving, or profound.
• What happened the day you asked her to marry you? How did you feel?

Now that's a wedding cake...

    My friend Ashlee just sent me an e-mail entitled "Wedding cakes in Kuwait OMG!" I can't even imagine having a cake like this.  There were so many pictures in the e-mail, but here are some of my favourites.  It really made me say OMG!

The first dance...

     Have you heard about that show on TLC called "Rock the Reception?"  It is all about the Bride and Groom working with a choreographer to come up with a funny and unique first dance.  And its most always a surprise. Here's a funny video I found like that on youtube.com
     I just think its one of the funniest things.  I think I'd still want my first slow dance, but this idea would be just as memorable.
    I know it won't happen for me, but if any of you other Brides are interested, there are plenty of ideas for dances on youtube.com.  Scott would never go for something like that. Its hard enough to get him to dance most times.
