I have to say I feel a little sorry for local arts group trying to promote their events with signs on street corners throughout the area. They are being drowned out by the numerous signs of the candidates in the upcoming federal election. At least the Oshawa Art Association used bright yellow to make their signs stand out for this past weekend's fall art festival. But the Stellar Literary Festival's white signs are disappearing amidst the blue, red, green and orange of the political parties. The festival is Sept. 27 from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. at Oshawa Valley Botanical Gardens on Arena Street so get out and meet some of the area's authors, playwrights, poets, storytellers and songwriters.
