In the Trenches

I've been getting ready for the wind generator over the last few weeks.  I decided to do some of the work myself to save some costs.  I've dug the 4 foot deep foundation for the tower and about half of the 2 foot deep trench that will carry the electric cable from the wind generator to the house.  The trench will be over 100 feet long once complete.  I've been lucky so far as the soil is fairly sandy with no rocks of any substantial size.  123_2398 The trench is going right through my grape vines and I have to weave around a few vines which will be a little challenging.  After the trench comes digging 4 post holes for the guy wires that help stabilize the tower and pouring the concrete in the foundation base (once the steel parts for attaching the tower come in).  The wind generator itself is in at www.ecoaltenergy.com  in Peterborough and we're hoping on getting everything installed in the next few weeks.  Can't wait!
