Grin and bare it.

One of the great things about acting is that every now and then you are asked to confront your own insecurities, to push your emotional envelope, to step out of your comfort zone. Sometimes well out of your comfort zone. I had to shoot a scene yesterday clad only in a scrap of nylon commonly referred to as a 'Speedo'. I'd known about this approaching scene for some time and had, of necessity, given it considerable thought...most of it unpleasant. It's been over thirty years since I last strapped one of those things on. And make no mistake, that's what you do with a Speedo. There's no slipping into one or even stepping into one. They're a marble pouch...end of conversation. And believe me there's even less slipping and stepping when you're 48 years old.
This experience could've been embarrassing, humiliating or at the very least unpleasant had I been anywhere but on the set of Little Mosque on the Prairie. Bless their hearts though, after three years with these lovely people I felt nothing but safe as I dropped my terry robe and strode forth in all my trout-belly whiteness onto the set. The experience actually turned out to be loads of fun. Nudity, even the partial variety, grows on you. I became so confident that eventually I had to be asked to put the robe back on. Apparently one can show too much of a good thing.

Hey Neil! Welcome to the "Outer C-Zone Limits". You truly have to pull out everything within you when acting wearing only a speedo. Extremely raw emoting. I remember when Dennis Franz exposed his buns on an episode of NYPD. I loved it because it showed a sensual side of him. I am looking forward to watching LMOTP new season. And that's a Good Thing!

That's nice, darling. But please make sure that you leave that little gem with wardrobe instead of possibly bringing it home. You know I love you to pieces, but I'm pretty sure that our marriage vows had something like; "and promise to shun the speedo together, with gusto."
