A perfect hell.

I cannot imagine a more perfect hell than that which the parents of Brandon Crisp are now experiencing. The missing 15 year old whose body was discovered in the woods of Oro-Medonte township, had run away after his parents laid down the law regarding his out of control video gaming. He had threatened to take off and they had called his bluff. What parent hasn't been in this situation? A situation that 99.9 percent of the time ends peacefully and calmly with the kid sheepishly coming back or even angrily slamming his bedroom door. Most of us can remember playing the 'runaway' card. I remember all too well getting to the end of my driveway and my own Dad calling to me that I'd better be sure to bring along a toothbrush. That tore it...I came back in the house, blubbering. But this time around, like a black joke, the boy died. We don't know how or why at this point in time although authorities don't think foul play is at cause. But the boy died and those poor, decent, loving parents will carry that guilt with them to their graves. Not their fault, of course, but this is what parents do. It's how we're wired. My heart goes out to them.

I hugged my kids a bit tighter when I heard the news, my heart goes out to the Crisp family.

Sometimes there's just nothing to say. We all stand together.
