Just got back from four days fishing on Ahmic Lake/Magnetewan River. What a great, long over due trip. My Dad and my youngest son came along and one of my brothers joined us for a couple of days. Stayed at and were well looked after by the good folks at Woodland Echoes Resort. Very nice, cozy cabin accomodations and great food. None of us felt like doing anything more culinarily challenging than opening a bag of chips and so opted for the American plan. Breakfast and dinner every day. While it was an absolute joy to watch my son wind down and fall into the rhythmic zen of fishing all day and experiencing the vicarious thrill of his catches, it was even more fun to watch my octogenarian Dad having a ball doing something he's always been passionate about, but has been away from for too long. It was very good for all of us. Weather was iffy at best and we certainly gave our rain suits a workout, but that didn't matter. My Dad taught his grandson how to play cribbage and as usual, filled his head with all manner of jokes, bawdy song snippets and, best of all, fishing stories from his eighty odd years. Priceless. Woodland Echoes treated us to a very affordable vacation, but those four days could've cost me a years salary and it would have been worth it.

Look how happy you are.Good luck~
