It's funny how one bit of text can make you think as you take a deep breath and see a bunch of nice things around you.

I had a fabulous day too. I spent it in a dingy bar reading Barbara Eherenreich's 'Bright-Sided:How The Relentless Promotion Of Positive Thinking Has Undermined America'.
I highly recommend it. But only if you cling to certain outmoded concepts like We Have No Business In Afghanistan or Why You Should Never Miss A Meeting Of Your Town Council or Rotary Is A Cult -Not A Service Club.
While the theraputic value of leaf raking is well documented and cannot be denied, the carpet of leaves you seek to re-arrange will wait. Other carpets are being pulled out from under you as we speak.
