The word "dolt" springs to mind

I love the word "dolt." It's just one of those words that accurately, but concisely, describes the individual to whom the word is applied (and says a great deal about the cranky individual who applies it, for that matter).

In the past week, I mumbled this word to myself no less than a dozen times, but most predominately about:

  • the tech support guy, who preferred to describe, in detail, the pros and cons of different modems, rather than assisting me with configuring my laptop settings.
  • the drivers of a truck and a compact car who pulled out in front of me causing me to whip into an oncoming lane (thankfully devoid of traffic) to avoid impact at 100 km/hr.
  • the guy in the hot black car (was it a Porsche?) who pulled alongside three cars in a 40 km/hr, residential zone to pass us at 80 km/hr despite the solid line; the kid in the silver sports car that did the same three days later.

Hmmm. I see a pattern.
