A Weekend in Vegas
Our gal Andrea McCall ditched her regular Wednesday Rant in favour of an update on her weekend in Vegas.
Wow! What a weekend! We did Las Vegas!!!
Val has already given some interesting sights. For me, some of the highlights were seeing my friend's initial disappointment of forgetting to purchase tiara's for us to walk around in, then being glad she didn't because we would have just been like so many others there; learning how to tip the guys who get the taxis for you; discovering how to become a V.I.P. (or a "vip" as Valerie called it); and watching my friend's initial reactions to all of the sights, sounds, and smells of all of the over-indulgence and extravagance of that city.
On my first day back, everyone wanted to hear about all of the adventures, especially since they had to listen to me count down the days prior to the trip. There truly wasn't one incident or adventure that stuck out.
What struck me most was how two people could go twenty four years without seeing each other, not even having any contact for twenty three of those, then be able to spend a wonderful 82 hours straight together. I was excited to see her, never anxious, and it all seemed so natural - like we had never been apart. With a word or a look she could have me laughing so hard I was crying.
I, again, appreciated the wonderful friendship we have and it made me also reminded me all of my other amazing friends that I have been blessed with and how they make me laugh, support me, and put up with me.
Thanks for the memories, Val! Looking forward to getting together to reminisce and make more!

You are right - it does run on green and that is a completely acceptable concept. And, you definitely get what you pay for.

A few years ago, I had much the same experience. I met my cousin from OZ there(hadn't seen for 20+ years)and had the best 4 days ever. Vegas is a weird place and runs on 'green' Everyone you meet has their hand ready to take your money. Other that that, everyone should experience Vegas once. I kept expecting the Griswold's to walk by.
