So it looks like I've missed my chance at scoring the Resistance 2 multiplayer beta.
Well, at least my earliest chance.
I remember way back when (a month or so ago) Gamepro ran a cover story on the aforementioned game. If you bought the magazine you could somehow enter into the runnings of scoring one of these early beta invites. It was through magic or something. Of course, since I remembered Gamepro as the magazine it once was, I couldn't muster $7 for reviews that employed a smiley-face system. As a side note, I'd like to make it known that the magazine seems to be in better shape than how I remember it, so it may be worth checking out. May be.
So even though there's a handful of those that get to ascend into Beta at this stage of the game, my time is coming. I subsribed to Qore (heckle if you like but I'm finally reaping the benefits), so I'll be allowed into the beta's premiere with all those pre-order folks. And if you buy the third issue of Qore on its own, you get the beta, but a week after it comes out. So pretty much anyone with any interest whatsoever in R2 will get into the beta.
I'd be even more excited if people could talk about it, but all discussion of this early beta in locked away in a cupboard with other such secrets (plastic natives perhaps?). The cupboard is a metaphor for a message board composed only of beta invitees. I'd love for something to leak though. I'm not sure there wil be many surprises, but I'd like to know what kind of mini-missions your tiny squad takes on.
So for those R2'ing their lives up, stop hovering over that HAWT TIPS button at Kotaku and just submit the thing.
