Another podcast? Yes. Expect plenty of them.

apIt is with this link that I promote the first official episode of Nitrobeard. We have recorded two other podcasts that are pretty much Nitrobeard episodes, it's just that we didn't think of that name yet.

So yeah, we talk about Ratchet and Clank: Quest for Booty, The Orange Box, Wario Land Shake It!, and most importantly, Spore's DRM and why everyone who rants about it are big, fat babies.

I'm gonna quote my co-host, Wes, for this next bit, just because he writes awesome show notes.

Welcome to the first official Nitrobeard podcast! Wes is joined by Tyler Ohlew and Brian Belida, and they’re throwing it down ’special style’.

Topics covered are Ratchet and Clank: Quest For Booty, Warioware: Shake It, Company of Heroes,  EA and Spore’s DRM (and why people are overreacting), ITunes, George Lucas, and best of all, Tyler’s triumphs in Half Life 2.

Also, we say goodbye to Jeff Green and Shawn Elliot, two amazing gaming journalists. No, they aren’t dead, but they’ve left the press for game devlopment, and we as freelance journalists are shedding a collective tear. In tribute, we have 1up FM’s ‘Cake vs. Pie’ legendary battle between the two titans. Good luck in the future, gentlemen. You’ll be missed. 1up won’t be the same!

Thanks, Wesley!

About Tyler Ohlew

  • Tyler, currently a journalism student at Durham College, has never spent a day where he hasn’t at least touched a video game controller. While just touching a controller does seem odd, it at least shows his commitment to the hobby. Read of his adventures of playing video games into the early hours of the morning, and learn of his frustrations as he tries to beat Kid Icarus for the first time of his life.

Comment Guidelines

  • We welcome comments but we ask that you observe our guidelines. We like readers who are prepared to stand by their comments by offering their 'real' first and last name - it adds validity to your comments. Stick to the topic and keep it clean. Personal attacks on individuals, bad language and unsubstantiated rumours have no place here. It's OK to be edgy, but if you're going to engage in name-calling and boorish behaviour take it elsewhere in cyberspace. And forget about posting under multiple IDs from the same IP address -- you'll get banned. Full Guidelines.
