Election night winds down

The dust has settled and Oshawa has a new mayor and an almost entirely new council -- although some of the "new" faces are blasts from the past.

Sorry the blogging kind of tapered off mid-evening, I was running from campaign office to campaign office (in heels) trying to make sure we got as much information for you as possible. Watch durhamregion.com tonight for a story with comments from mayor-elect John Henry, as well as reaction from a shocked former mayor Gray.

By late tomorrow we'll have an in-depth interview with the new mayor, plus plenty of other fascinating election tidbits. I'm going to call it a night so I can be coherent enough to interview people tomorrow.

Tension is building

People in the audience are exclaiming over mayoral candidate John Henry's solid lead in the advance polls, with 6 out of 46 polls reporting he's got 2,310 votes to John Gray's 1,443.
