Slave To The Squarewave

Sunday Sept 7 Slave To The Squarewave will be performing at the Oshawa Ribfest down at Lakeview Park. This should be a hoot and I'm dying to see what those bonesuckers make of the STSW... who are a weird mash of INXS and Nash The Slash... a throwback but also a throwdown to the make-believe world folks lived in back in the 80s'... you know sequined legwarmers... the whole Pretty In Pink Breakfast Club vibe when but we all know that Ducky's the only cat who knew where it was at. The Slaves will be on about one-ish ...just after Dan The Music Man (below) who gets all the city's gigs for some reason and some celebrity impersonators which is good because we don't ever get real celebrities here in Shwaville anyway. David Usher??? Argggh I promised myself I wouldn't say anything... but really $400 bucks for the Regent's opening gala... I was hoping seeing as the folks of Shwaville paid for the place they might offer us a free night, like an open house. But I guess we'll be left drooling on the glass as those who qualify as celebrities in this town play dress up and quaff champers inside. It all sounds very medievel to me and Let them eat cake... but whatever... the rich deserve a playland too. It just better not be coming out of my pocket.

$400???? That's insane! It's tough enough to get people to pay 4 bucks in Oshawa.

About Will McGuirk

  • Will_McGuirk
    • William McGuirk believes that Canadian music will not feed the world but it will provide moments of digestive relief. Tears are not enough but sometimes that's all we have. That we are not here for a long time so have a good time and support local artists. He has been yelling in the wilderness for 15 years. He needs a home and has been dewormed. He's got 6,000 years of Irish in him so don't believe a word of it.
