Canadian Music Week, which runs from March 12 through to March 14 (3 day week?), has a schedule up on its site. While you will find me hunkered down at the aptly titled Legendary Horseshoe for most of it and I'll explain why in a moment, first here is a list of our boys and girls who will be rocking the joints. This is not a full list by any means and CMW will probably fill in a few more venues over the next while but for now it will do. I should add too that some promoters down in Hogtown put on alternative "anti" CMW events and many of our D-Rockers usually get pegged for those.
So for now...
The Von Drats play the Cadillac Lounge
USS play the Canadian Room/ Royal York Hotel
Proof Of Ghosts play Clinton's
Cuff The Duke play Lee's Palace
1S2L play the Reverb
Cure Gravity and Hail The Villain play the Rivoli
The Warped 45s play the Silver Dollar
So to the 'Shoe.... here's why y'all should get in early and stay late and then go early again... CHARTattack has its showcase there and the acts called upon are simply the best of indie rock... no bones about it... plus its open way late...extended hours...whoo hoo!
Thursday:
The Lovely Feathers, $100, Delinquints, Women, Gentlemen Reg, Chad VanGaalen. Quest For Fire
Friday:
Dinosaur Bones, Daniel Wesley, The Schomberg Fair, The Bicycles, Human Highway, Handsome Furs, Hot Panda
Saturday:
100s & 1000s, Rebekah Higgs, Vancougar, Young Galaxy, Two Hours Traffic, The Golden Dogs, Hexes and Ohs
However the Saturday lineup at Lee's features Jon Rae Fletcher, Basia Bulat, Elliot Brood and Cuff The Duke so i'm thinking thats a good call.
